NEWS: Fast-track $1.49bn loans for 10 states, Osinbajo don write Reps
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo don write the House of Representatives, to request the House to separate the $1. 49 billion wey dey for projects inside 10 states from the 2016-
2018 External Borrowing ( Rolling) Plan of the Federal Government .
He say this na to enable the House to give fast hearing to the loan so that projects go quick dey executed for the affected states.
The states na Ogun, Ondo, Kanuna , Kano, Ebonyi, Plateau, Abia , Katsina , Jigawa Enugu .
The states get projects wey dey tied to a total loan value of $1. 49 bn under the external borrowing plan . me
Osinbajo letter say , “Hon . Speaker , you may wish to know that the request for the separation of the state projects from the list became imperative in view of the current economic realities in the country and the pressing needs of these states to provide infrastructural and social amenities for their citizens .
“The total loans for the states being presented for special consideration and approval is $ 1.49 bn …”
On the list, Ogun has a loan of $350 million for development projects .
The same $350 m is requested for Kaduna .
Kano, Plateau and Enugu states will take $ 200 m for water projects , while Kano alone will take another $200 m for agricultural and water resources development .
Ebonyi will take $70 m for a road project and another $80 m, also for one road project .
While Abia is seeking $ 100 m for rural development , Katsina has $ 110 m for health projects .
Similarly , $32 .4 m was requested for Jigawa.
