The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Babatunde Ipaye don confirm the outbreak of Lassa fever as he say one 20-year-old patient test positive for the virus and dem don move am go one of the isolation centres set up by the state government.
Ipaye still yarn say na 66 persons wey get contact with the victim don dey under observation as he called the residents to remain calm and assure dem of adequate response surveillance in the case of another outbreak.
The commissioner don challenge residents to always maintain good environmental and personal hygiene to contain the spread of the fever.
