Somalia Islamist group al Shabaab don attacked one military base for Kenya wey U.S. and Kenyan forces dey use for operation.
Na on Sunday, January 5, 2020, the attack happen for the military base for Lamu county.
One military source wey confirm the attack to Reuters, yarn say: "They have attacked Manda airstrip in Lamu, which is just next to the military camp that hosts military personnel from many countries including Kenya and the U.S. We are informed that fighting is still ongoing,"
The source say fighters been dey try to gain access enter the base from the airstrip.
But Al Shabaab, wey be Qaeda-linked Islamist insurgent group wey dey fight to overthrow the Somali government, drop statement as dem dey promise to carry more attacks.
"One of group of soldiers from Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen’s ‘Martyrdom Brigade’ launched a daring dawn raid on a U.S. naval base known as ‘Camp Simba’ in Lamu County, Kenya," the al Shabaab statement said.

For now, no reports of casualties, but the attack dey come just one year after al Shabaab launched been launch deadly suicide attack for the 14 Riverside complex for the Kenyan capital Nairobi, and na 21 people pooff.
