NEWS: Osun Pensioners dey stage new protest onto dem pension matta.
Pensioners for Osun State under the aegis of Forum of 2011/2012 Pensioners don stage fresh protest to demand payment of the arrears of dem pensions and gratuities.
The protest dey happen just one day after Governor Rauf Aregbesola confirm say he don collect N6.314bn as the second tranche of the Paris Club loan refund.
The Chairman of the forum, Mr Omoniyi Ilesanmi, wey lead the protest say make the governor use the money pay the entitlements of pensioners.
He say the government dey owe the pensioners one-year full pension arrears and gratuities from 2008 to 2012.
The pensioners dem storm the State Civil Service Secretariat for Abere and block part of the road but dey allow workers and others to go inside and outside of the place.The pensioners dem carry placards and dem dey sing anti-government songs and rain curse for the governor.
Armed policemen and other security agents wey dey on ground to monitor the protest dey civil with dem approach as dey allow the protesters show dem grievances without violence
The pensioners say atleast 2000 of dem colleagues don pooff unto lack of money to buy food and to treat themselves.Ilesanmi don vow say the pensioners go make the state ungovernable for the governor except he pay dem entitlements.
Ilesanmi say, ” The governor should use the N6.314bn he just collected to pay us. He should look for money from anywhere to pay us all our entitlements.
