20 FOREIGN SHIPPING COMPANIES DON COMMOT FROM NIGERIA, 3000 WORKERS JOBLESS.


20 foreign shipping companies wey dey operate for inside Nigeria don decide to commot from the country, the matta go cause about 3000 of their staff to dey unemployed.
According to the President of the Dock workers Union of Nigeria (DUN), Anthony
Emmanuel Nted, the Federal government importation policy dey largely responsible for the closure of some of the shipping businesses. The Federal government don put
ban on the importation of some commodities as part of efforts to revive the economy.

“The current government policy on importation even though e be like say na with the best intention don dey wreak more havoc on the economy and sharp review dey needed urgently” he yarn Guardian. He say make the FG  review the ban on the importation of rice, wheat, motor spare parts and industrial machinery until the nation don dey able to produce for local consumption.

He say the failure to do dis go encourage smuggling, diversion of ships to neighboring countries, retrenchment of workers, unemployment and general loss of revenue to government. Some of the companies wey don dey commot include Mitsui O.S.K Line, Nippon Yusen Kasha, Taiwan’s Evergreen Line, Messina Line, Hapag-Lloyd and Gold Star Line  (GSL), among others.

Na wa O, make the FG open the ports dem first, den empower production of local contents to full circulation for the country before dem go finally close the importation doors. Rice don cost.
