The German parliament on Friday don legalise the same - sex marriage, days after Chancellor Angela Merkel say she go allow her conservative lawmakers to follow dem conscience for the vote.
The German legal code was changed to say “marriage is entered into for life by two people of different or the same sex”, the bill dey strongly supported by leftist parties.
The reform now grant full marital rights , plus child adoption , to gay and lesbian couples.
The lower house passed the bill by margin of 393 - 226 . The upper house don already approve am, and the measure dey expected to enter force before the end of the year .
