'NIGERIAN WORKERS GO KNOW DEM NEW MINIMUM WAGE FOR AUGUST' - TUC

Bobboi Kaigama wey be the President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) don announce say the new amount wey dem agree with the Federal Government and labour to serve as Nigeria new minimum wage go dey announced next month.

Na for one interview with the News Agency of Nigeria for Lagos, Bobboi yarn say the committee dey work on the minimum wage and set don almost concluded negotiations ontop the matter.
He yyarn say“the tripartite meeting is holding today but I do not want to pre-empt the outcome or the level we have reached in our discussions, otherwise there will be unnecessary anxiety. But by the end of August, I am assuring you that workers will know what the agreed new minimum wage will be, ”

The labour movement, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the TUC been dey demand N56, 000 as new minimum wage. But the President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba later submit one memorandum to the wage committee, to demand N66, 500 “living wage’’.
Wabba say the living wage dey necessary to restore confidence for workers.
