The Port Harcourt International Airport runway don dey temporarily closed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) onto the bush fire gbegeski wey happen around the facility.
As dey close the airport no flight fit take off or land for the airport as on Saturday January 4.
To assure Nigerians of dem commitment to the safety, security and comfort of passengers and airport users, FAAN's Corporate Affairs General Manager, Henrietta Yakubu say the temporarily closure of the runway na part of safety precautions.
She yarn say;
“A joint team from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency is presently evaluating the situation.
“This is with a view to ensuring that the airside is cleared of smoke and restoration of normalcy at the airport.”
